RESUMEN

The outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 has greatly changed teaching methods. With the normalization of the pandemic, teaching has gradually entered the era of a pandemic. Online teaching greatly limits the scope of management accounting courses and requires experimental operation and interaction between students and teachers. Therefore, mixed teaching has become a breakthrough in the development of management accounting teaching. This study mainly studies accounting students who adopt the mixed teaching method of the flipped classroom. Flipped classroom teaching mode can stimulate students' learning autonomy, adjust the traditional classroom teaching activities based on teachers' teaching into an interactive and exploratory new classroom, and play a positive role in the teaching development of management accounting courses. When designing a new paradigm of management accounting teaching based on the flipped classroom, by sorting out the five basic functions of management accounting prediction, decision-making, planning, control and evaluation, knowledge point learning, ability training, and independent exploration awareness run through three different periods before, during and after class. At the end of the semester, qualitative and quantitative analysis will be conducted in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The survey found that a large number of students recognized this teaching mode, and most students believed that this teaching mode improved their learning efficiency and ability to understand and master knowledge. The survey also found that the effect of rehearsal before class determines the learning level of the class to a certain extent. This means that we must focus on optimizing the rehearsal content and selecting more effective tools to ensure that students watch the rehearsal. © 2023 IEEE.

RESUMEN

The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a rapid shift to online learning at universities, leading to an acceleration of changes directed at creating more inclusive education models. The goal of this research is to explore various aspects of online learning patterns, including students' online behavior, and attitude towards online communication. The study incorporates qualitative and qualitative data analysis. Based on 1562 survey responses from Polish and Ukrainian students, it has been found that there are still differences in digital competencies between men and women, which may be rooted in traditional gender roles. The analysis of students' attitudes towards online education also identified both positive and negative aspects of this form of learning, providing insight into areas that could be improved. The main research limitation stems from the interpretative nature of the findings, which have restricted generalization power. The research findings may be useful in shaping future educational policies at Polish and Ukrainian universities. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

RESUMEN

The emergence of the "Internet plus education” program has provided an opportunity. In recent years, the government has issued relevant documents in succession, so as to create a new mode of training talents that is suitable for the times and share high-quality educational resources. Especially during the epidemic period of New Coronavirus pneumonia, the online and offline teaching mode plays a vital role in the teaching process of colleges and universities. However, the development of online and offline hybrid teaching is not perfect, which needs further research and continuous improvement by scholars. In response to the implementation of the national "Internet plus education” program, reforming the traditional physical education teaching mode, improving the learning efficiency of students and promoting the development of students' personality, this paper, based on the OBE concept, takes the construction of online and offline blended teaching mode in track and field as the research object. Through the investigation and analysis of the current situation of traditional physical education teaching and the feasibility of online and offline mixed teaching mode of track and field course, this paper provides a basis for the construction and application strategy of online and offline mixed teaching mode of track and field course. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

RESUMEN

The outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 has changed the teaching methods of Chinese education to a large extent with the explosive development of online and blended teaching. With the normalization of the pandemic, teaching has gradually entered the post-pandemic era. Online teaching greatly limits the scope of physics classes where experiments have to be conducted, instruments manipulated and interaction between students and teachers is needed. Therefore, blended teaching has become a breakthrough point in the reform of physics experiment teaching in college. This research focuses on students majoring in Food who are taught experiment physics using a blended teaching method based in a flipped classroom. After the end of the semester, a Questionnaire Star was used to conduct a qualitative and quantitative analysis. The survey found that 93.4% of the students acknowledge this teaching mode, with a majority of them declaring that this teaching mode improved their learning efficiency as well as their understanding and mastery of knowledge and problem-solving ability. It showed that blended teaching should be the norm, not the exception. The survey also found that the effects of watching previews before class determined the degree of learning in the classroom to a certain extent. This means that an emphasis must be put on optimizing the previews' contents as well as coming up with more efficient instruments to ensure students watch the previews. © 2022 IEEE.

RESUMEN

The four- and six-year graduation rates (~17.7% and ~64.5% respectively) of engineering (ENGR), are below the University's average graduation rates (~ 33.1% and 67.4%). The goal of this study is to seek solutions towards increasing the graduation rates and ultimately decreasing the time-to-graduation. There are several steps that could be taken to help the engineering students graduate earlier. Examples are summer bridge programs that focus on strengthening mathematical skills of students, encouraging students to attend tutoring sessions and practice problem-solving. One of the factors that add to the time-to-graduation of students is not being able to pass the lower division courses that serve as the prerequisite to other discipline courses. The result will be high DFW rate courses which students repeat several times before they can pass them and pursue other courses that rely on these high DFW courses. This can adversely affect the student's sense of belonging and decrease the retention rate. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all courses, including some of the high DFW courses, were taught in various modalities. This has created different results and perceptions by students. The Linear Circuits I is a high DFW rate course in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of CSU Chico. In this study, the author, who has taught this course in four different modalities, looks closely at the results of this class and compares the effect of different teaching modalities on the DFW rates. The author will also reflect on the effectiveness of each of the teaching modes, student engagement, and student feedback on each mode. The results could be used for the recommendation of teaching modalities if the course is offered online again due to a pandemic or other need. Additionally, the lessons learned and the technology related features of online instruction can be integrated with in-person instruction to increase the effectiveness of teaching. © American Society for Engineering Education, 2022.

RESUMEN

Covid-19 has changed the study life of many people with many courses in higher education being moved online. With the situation continuing like this, it is worthwhile to ask the questions such as: is the current provision of online education effective? Will the pandemic change higher education for ever? And what is the future of higher education post-pandemic? To answer these questions, we have conducted a survey to the students at the University of York. The survey provides some clarifications for the current state of online learning. It is discovered that while the adoption of online learning is continuously increasing, the current provision of online teaching during the pandemic has plenty of room to improve. Most participants believe that blended learning e.g. flipped classroom is the future of education post-pandemic;this is in contrast with a small number of participants who believe the in-class teaching is the future of education. In the process of arriving the conclusion, we have also learned a number of best practices for online learning. It is anticipated that the evidence collected from this study will shed light for university senior management to make strategic decisions in preparation for the future of education post-pandemic. © 2022 ACM.

RESUMEN

Under the serious influence of COVID-19, online teaching has become a mainstream teaching mode. During the online teaching, it is difficult for teachers to evaluate and intervene in students' learning in real time. Therefore, for students who lack self-control, it is possible to be stuck in low learning efficiency and even failure of course assessment. How to obtain valid information of students' learning status in time during the online teaching process is a hot research topic at present. This paper proposes a feedback service for teaching based on educational data mining. It can, through a reasonable analysis of the data submitted in form of students' homework, accurately screen out students who have difficulties in learning a certain course and give directions to achieve the purpose of optimizing the teaching. © 2022 IEEE.
